Trolls and Rules! (Please read!!!)
The moderating team would appreciate it if ALL of you took a few moments out of your day to review the rules of the forum, located here:
The Dogs-Forum.com Rules
We've noticed a growing trend here where people are making provocative responses trolls or troll-like posts, or calling them out as trolls. Please don't do that. If you come across a post or individual that is troll or spam like, all you have to do is report it to us. You can also make a post in TTTT, or even PM one of us. We will get to it when we can. Some are obvious and we're just going to ban and remove posts immediately when we see it/can, so there's no point in even replying to them. There's also a chance one of us has seen it and decided to leave it and monitor, just in case it is a genuine poster and NOT a troll.
Poking/provoking trolls unfortunately makes this forum a more hostile place rather than a friendly one. We have to remember that this forum is open to a LOT of different people. Not everybody is educated or experienced with dogs. There are no dumb questions. For some people, english is not their first language and they may struggle to communicate. And we also sometimes have very young people joining, who are not experienced or don't have developed writing skills and may have trouble making their point. They may make posts that seem troll-like. When somebody responds provoking them, poking them, or mocking them instead of helping or trying to understand...Imagine how that would make them feel. It's always better to be safe than sorry, which is why we may opt to leave a troll-like post and monitor it.
Ultimately, the point here is that if you don't have anything nice or helpful to say...Hit the back button and move on, or report it and move on. There's also an "ignore" feature....If there's a particular poster that bothers you, you can go into your user CP and add them to your ignore list so you won't see any of their topics or posts.
We're taking this very seriously because we do pride this forum on being a FRIENDLY one. There are very few dog communities out there that we feel are as non-judgmental as this one. Some communities will rip a person to shreds for feeding a raw diet, not spay/neutering, doing a responsible rehome, having two puppies etc. This one does not. This is what we strive for as moderators...Building and maintaining a community that is enjoyable for everybody, so we don't end up being a clique.
Please just keep the rules in mind whenever you post.
